The Lao PDR National REDD+ Program is part of an international initiative to combat climate change through improved management of forests.

The National REDD+ Program is being implemented by a wide range of stakeholders the Government of Lao PDR, provincial, district, and local authorities, civil society, the private sector, and development partners. This website provides information about these activities.

The Department of Forestrys REDD+ Division serves as the office for the National REDD+ Program. Its activities are described on its own separate webpage.

REDD+ stands for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation [in developing countries]; and [plus]the role of conservation, sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks.
