Current Road Maps

The National REDD+ Program aims to have a National REDD+ Strategy, Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment, and safeguard plans prepared in the next few months. The key elements of national “REDD+ Readiness” will be completed before the end of 2017. Lao PDR will prepare and submit to the FCPF a “REDD+ Readiness Self-Assessment Report” before 31 December 2017.

For the Carbon Fund Emissions Reduction Program, an Emissions Reduction Program Document (ER-PD) is currently under preparation. An initial draft will be submitted in mid-October 2017, and a final draft by the end of 2017. The draft report will then be reviewed by a Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) and submitted to the Carbon Fund for approval. The aim is for the Carbon Fund and the Government of Lao PDR to negotiate and sign the ER Program Agreement (ER-PA) by mid-2018.
